![]() ![]() It also explains why he remembers being told by Grandma to “remain invisible”, relegating his playground to an underground celler. If Do-hyun is indeed the child borne from a scandal, it can explain why his grandma detests him. It appears that Do-hyun may be the secret child between Chairman Cha (aka Do-hyun’s “grandpa”) and either Mdm Min (the first daughter-in-law in the Cha family) or Mdm Shin (Do-hyun’s mum). Ri-ohn, in his confrontation with Se-gi in ep10, whispers in Se-gi’s ear that he “knows that Do-hyun is the son of the Seung-jin Group”. Remember my offshot speculation in my previous post? I think I may have hit jackpot again, albeit a different one. (yawn) However, there are strong(er) hints in ep10 on the Scandal-which-cannot-be-named. The confrontation between Se-gi and Ri-ohn brings me to the next topic: the Cha family scandal which is so horrible it is taking more than half of Kill to reveal. Much like a boy, who has juz been ticked off by an adult. He can only grind his teeth and glare - impotently. When Ri-ohn threatens Se-gi and warns him to stay away from Ri-jin, you get the sense that despite Ri-ohn being younger, Se-gi appears to be more emasculate and ineffectual. ![]() Cos he doesn’t have the social knowledge to operate in today’s world. If he sits down and really think about it (quite impossible for him, i know), he’d realise that “killing” Do-hyun does not equate to his survival. Se-gi’s childishness is starting to undercut his threats to destroy Do-hyun. ![]() Cos while Se-gi lacks Min-seok’s streetsmartness, he makes it up in terms of appearance - afterall, he IS a late 20s to 30-something adult, physically. His apparent love for attention from the noonas in the office the moment he steps in, to (horrors of horrors!!) wheel-rolling his chair back into the meeting room - and enjoying it! - remind you of a kid who is enjoying his new play pen. Thankfully, his cover hasn’t blown. His reporting to work reminds me a lot of high schooler Lee Min-seok in High School King of Savvy, playacting as an adult when he is in fact juz a kid. Which is evident in how Se-gi lives through a day in Do-hyun’s life as the Asst VP in ID Entertainment. In eps5/6, many of us already caught a whiff that behind that first impression of Se-gi as being overpowering masculine, Kill hints that his masculinity belongs to a boy of maybe 13 or 14? That age range where you are all raging hormones, and basically quite empty between your ears. By now, if you aren’t disillusioned with Se-gi, you should be. So it isn’t such a coincidence that we devote the entire ep10 to the re-appearance of Se-gi. Other than Perry Park et.al being (too) eager to greet Ri-jin, the surfacing of Do-hyun’s multiple personalities in a single day’s span also bode that he is one step closer to unlocking that deep, dark secret which he has forgotten as Do-hyun, but definitely remembers as Se-gi. Thus, the popping up of ALL personalities sans Se-gi in ep9. (so fun to watch) Then again, Ri-jin’s close proximity to Do-hyun has a domino-effect on his other personalities: Do-hyun and “friends” are all too eager to meet their new housemate. Our OTP finally join forces and they make a pretty unstoppable team when paired together - enough to diss Chae-yon and Ki-joon, making them snap at each other.
